Overview

Hosted voice chat for games on the open-source Aurix engine. You pay for capacity — node-hours — never for concurrent users.

What Aurix Cloud is#

Aurix is an open-source voice backend for games: positional and team channels, server-side mixing, Opus over QUIC, WebTransport, WebRTC or WebSocket, and SDKs for Unreal, Unity, Godot, the web and a C ABI for everything else. Aurix Cloud runs that engine for you — accounts, billing, regions, capacity, upgrades and on-call — while the media path stays the exact code you can read on GitHub.

Your game talks to two things:

  • Your backend → the cell. When a player enters a match, your server asks the cell for a short-lived player token using the project's SDK key. Player tokens
  • The game client → the cell. The SDK connects with that token and joins channels. Audio never touches the control plane. Pick your engine

The console at /console/ is where projects, keys, capacity, usage and the spending limit live; the control-plane API exposes the same things for automation.

How the pieces fit#

Request
game server ──POST /v1/tokens (SDK key)──▶ cell ──▶ { token, endpoint, channels }
game client ──connect(endpoint, token)───▶ cell node ──▶ Opus over QUIC / WebTransport / WebRTC
console / API ──────────────────────────▶ control plane ──admin API──▶ cell (apps, limits, usage)

A cell is one Aurix fleet (its own database, registry and media nodes). Every project is pinned to a cell; Free and Indie projects share the EU pool, Cloud and BYOC projects run on nodes that belong to them. The control plane never carries audio — if it were down, players already in a channel would keep talking.
