Billing FAQ
Short answers to the questions studios ask before adding a card.
Who charges my card?#
Paddle.com, as merchant of record. The statement says PADDLE.NET AURIX*. Paddle handles VAT/GST, receipts and refunds.
When am I charged?#
On the first of the month for the previous month's usage plus the current month's subscriptions. Cards are verified with a $0 authorisation when added.
Is there a free tier?#
Yes: 50 concurrent participants, 20,000 participant-minutes per month, every SDK, no card, no time limit.
What exactly is a node-hour?#
One dedicated node of a size running for one hour, billed to the minute. See Pricing.
What happens at my spending limit?#
Quality degrades in four steps; at 120 % of the limit new connections are refused. Nobody is disconnected. Spending limit
Can I get a refund?#
Unused subscription time within 14 days of first purchase, yes; usage already consumed, no. Refund policy
VAT and invoices for companies#
Add your VAT id in the Paddle checkout; invoices show it and reverse-charge applies where it should. Invoices are PDFs under Billing → Invoices.
Which currencies?#
Prices are in USD; Paddle charges in your card's currency at its rate.
Can I pay by invoice / wire?#
From $500 / month, net 30 — [email protected].
What if payment fails?#
You get an e-mail and a billing.payment_failed webhook and we retry the charge. Per the terms unpaid invoices may suspend new capacity after 14 days and the account after 30 — we write to you before either. Nothing is deleted.
How do I cancel?#
Cancel the Indie subscription under Billing; it stays active until the end of the paid period. Cloud nodes stop billing the moment they are stopped. Deleting the organisation removes everything after invoices are settled.
